ecoglobe Kauri
|
You enter ecoglobe through the trunk of
our national tree, the Kauri, a symbol of strength and longevity.
Circular stairs and an elevator for the handicapped take you up to
the center of our globe. At a level of ten metres you exit the
Kauri trunk and find yourself back home under its shady crown.
Through our well-known Aotearoa-New Zealand scenery we step into
the world environment and learn about sustainability, that is our
human impact on the Earth. Exciting interactive exhibits explain
current issues such as energy-speed-power, biodiversity-genetic
engineering-pesticides, and many more. Pathways along the
ecoglobe'swalls lead to different levels of exhibition.
You visit the skies and learn about climate change and the ozone
layer. At the lower level you find the world beneath us, with its
mineral resources and water life.
