New Zealand's New Prime Minister Helen Clark and Deputy Prime Minister Jim Anderton Facing The Green Child
ecoglobe
is politically neutral. Our only purpose is the promotion of ecological awareness and environmentally sound practices.
The personal is political, however. A term that was coined by the women's movement.
Whatever we do, in private or in public, has a political dimension.
The choices we make, the food we buy, the clothes we wear, the TV station
we watch, the paper that we read.
So, whilst being politically neutral, we express our satisfaction with
the success of the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand. The Greens will
be in important force in the effort to make New Zealand an
environmentally sustainable society.
The new centre-left Government has also made a promising start.
We congratulate Helen Clark and Jim Anderton and their parties with their
success.
They will surely appreciate the cartoon, which seems to reflect the
political feelings of the day.
We hope all parties will adopt the green child and listen to its messages.
