ecoglobe
ecoglobe is focusing on genetic engineering since we think it is
one of the major issues that influences "sustainabilitry".
You will notice that we bring predominently articles that critique
genetic engineering biotechnology. We do so since we think it is our
duty as environmental scientists to help balancing the arguments in the
public arena.
Science, Authorities and "market forces" are pushing
very hard for a rapid commercial use of GE plants
and organisms in agriculture and foods.
However, we think that the release of GE plants and organisms
into the environment is still premature.
Too many questions remain unanswered and the known risks of a
worst-case scenario are simply unacceptable.
We the citizens, which includes the GE scientists, as well as
corporate and government management, must proceed with utmost prudence.
It is not a matter of running away for risks.

It is a matter of careful and honest consideration of all aspects of
an applied science that still has to prove its harmlessness and real
benefits for society.
