After graduating as M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Technical University in Copenhagen I took post graduate studies at The Imperial College of Science and Technology in London. Then, apart from several periods working abroad, I was employed in Danish industry, ending up as President and later Chairman of the Board of Danfoss A/S, a Danish manufacturing company, working within the area of automatic controls - many of which serve for energy saving. Also I served on the Boards of a number of major companies. I retired some years ago at the age of 70.
For many years I have been engaged in the media debate about environmental problems, and have been a frequent speaker on these problems. I have written a book on the subject, entitled "Environment and Market Economy". Also I have served on various committees and boards connected with environmental problems, among which the board of the Danish section of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
