"If anything can go wrong, it will." The Encyclopedia Americana says that Murphy's law is a humorous maxim (1984 Vol. 19 p. 629). But we think the man must have been a born pessimist. It seems Capt. Ed Murphy was an aircaft engineer. Referring to a technician he said, in 1948: "If there is any way to do it wrong, he will."
Honestly, we had expected something deeper, scientifically deep-rooted and serious
pessimism.
Although - thinking of the history of mankind ...
Our whole industrial age project is going awfully wrong.
We have knotted our own noose. The image is still fuzzy for many people, but a major factor is transportation. |
